Ok, heres the deal. MY s3 is an 06. Right now it is completely stock. I want to use a whole header system but will wait until i have more choices. The aftermarket seems a little slow responding to the S3. I need to know the differences between the tors download and the tuneboy download. Then you confuse me even more with Waynes super secret double secret probation download. If that was,nt enough to make me say screw it and leave it stock, now you start talking about SAI removal. I,am kinda new to triumphs and real new to theS3 so humor me,I'am trying. Somebody, anybody. I guess you could say i'am picky but i want any mod i do to my beautiful baby to be perfect and proven. So what does the sai removal do? Who is wayne and why is his download any better than tors or the regular tuneboy.

I'm pretty sure Wayne McDonald is the guy who owns the Tuneboy website, but I may be mistaken. I see him a lot on t595.net.

Anyway, the Secondary Air Injection system shoots extra air into the exhaust ports to burn off any unburned fuel. What this does is allows the bike to pass stringent emissions testing, but also creates a LOUD backfiring and popping on decel with aftermarket exhaust systems.

By removing the 'SAI', you remove the additional air being shot into the header, removing the popping and banging on decel, get more accurate oxygen sensor readings on dynos, and a bike that runs just that extra bit smoother.

Tuneboy vs PCIII? Tuneboy plugs in and directly changes the mapping or 'tune' on the ECU, while the PCIII is a whole system you have to plug in and leave plugged in to change the fuel injection AFTER the ECU. The Tuneboy kit is a lot simpler, no extra ***** you have to plug into your bike and leave dangling around. The only downside is that nowhere near as many dyno techs have heard of it, but the software is nearly identical to the PCIII's so learning it is quick and easy.

Tuneboy is a lot more like what the dealership does with their diagnostic tools. You also have a LOT more tuneability options with the Tuneboy over the PCIII. Just go to www.tuneboy.com.au to read about it.

Three words for after market exhaust.......ZARD and POWER COMMANDER.

If you by the Zard you can get it packaged with a PCIII USB that has a preloaded map for the Zard. I found this map to work best for my setup.

Instead of removing the SAI system just plug the hole in the airbox that leads to the solenoid that injects air into the exhaust. I used a piece of 3M adhesive pad. The stuff that you use to mount plastic hooks on the bathroom wall. Works great. That way if they ever start testing emissions on bikes in my area I can got back to stock.

Thanks Xenarchi.

The hole is probably at the front of your airbox if its like my 03. I went all out and just removed the whole thing because it is a waste of space IMO.

The SAI may reduce a small amount of fuel vapor released from the exhaust, but it also makes the bike run a bit richer than necessary which increases the amount of fuel burned and CO/CO2 emissions.

Oh, and eliminating the combustion the SAI creates in the header/exhaust lowers the overall temp of the exhaust system.

That sounds like a sweet set up, how much for the combo and which Zard did you get/ Full, slip on ? Who sold that together?

Just got back from a camping trip so I have not had a chance to get to the bike. Will I be able to see it with the tank removed or will I have to access it from the space between the top of the engine and the frame?
