I'm pretty sure Wayne McDonald is the guy who owns the Tuneboy website, but I may be mistaken. I see him a lot on t595.net.
Anyway, the Secondary Air Injection system shoots extra air into the exhaust ports to burn off any unburned fuel. What this does is allows the bike to pass stringent emissions testing, but also creates a LOUD backfiring and popping on decel with aftermarket exhaust systems.
By removing the 'SAI', you remove the additional air being shot into the header, removing the popping and banging on decel, get more accurate oxygen sensor readings on dynos, and a bike that runs just that extra bit smoother.
Tuneboy vs PCIII? Tuneboy plugs in and directly changes the mapping or 'tune' on the ECU, while the PCIII is a whole system you have to plug in and leave plugged in to change the fuel injection AFTER the ECU. The Tuneboy kit is a lot simpler, no extra ***** you have to plug into your bike and leave dangling around. The only downside is that nowhere near as many dyno techs have heard of it, but the software is nearly identical to the PCIII's so learning it is quick and easy.
Tuneboy is a lot more like what the dealership does with their diagnostic tools. You also have a LOT more tuneability options with the Tuneboy over the PCIII. Just go to
www.tuneboy.com.au to read about it.
