bought this jacket yesterday at the local cycle shop, motoliberty. i've been waiting a couple of weeks for them to get a size L in. they finally got it so i stopped on my way home to pick it up.

this is an awesome jacket. i was wearing it last night and the air flow is pretty dang good. living in texas, you need all the air flow you can get. the armor fits in place like it should and the overall feel of the jacket seems very well built. it also came with a liner that attaches inside for colder weather. of course, i took that thing out before i even left the cycle shop yesterday. pushing 100 degrees with a 70 degree dew point, i want all the air flow i can get.

i also really like the way this jacket looks. i've been debating on which mesh jacket to buy for the past 2 months but have not seen anything i really like. however, this one caught my eye so i knew i had to have it. it has 5 pockets, 4 in the front, and 1 inside.

today will be a good test coming home...supposed to hit 102 today.

That looks exellent. It's almost too hot for me to ride during the day. I was watching the news last night at midnight, and it was 91 degrees! I was hoping to make it down to Moto Liberty yesterday to try on a Carbon HJC lid, but didn't make it. I'll have to check out that jacket as well.

skyler, check out their scorpion helmets. when i was first shopping for another helmet after someone stole my hjc last month, i went to motoliberty and was looking at the arai's. didn't really see anything i liked so i started doing research online for the next few days. come to find out, the scorpion helmets are second to none in terms of value. i went back to motoliberty and ordered a matte black exo-700. AWESOME freakin helmet. i absolutely love it, ESPECIALLY for the price. you cannot go wrong. just buy it.

btw, motoliberty is the #2 dealer in terms of sales for scorpion helmets. they swear by them. and now i do too.

Tekmoe,

How is the fit of the jacket? I have a mulit-season jacket (removeable liner) and one thing I don't like that when I remove the liner for hotter days there is so much room inside that I blow up like a balloon at speed because of the room for air inside the jacket.

Your jacket may differ (or not) because of all of the ventilation. Can you give me your perspective for this?

Thanks,
Capt.

nice lookin' jacket, tekmoe!

I bought a mesh recently that I quite like as well. I posted in the "gone squid" article but will paste it here:

Well I went ahead and got the Vanson, Vent Max Mark 3 edition jacket and it fits the bill! Mine is in red (the stripe), I noticed the blue one had a glow-in-the-dark white stripe, which is cool, but didn't see the silver.

It's not much hotter than a t-shirt and it has the Vanson name behind it so you know it is as tough and safe as they can make it in mesh. And it looks much better than most, I think!

I also have the Vanson Vent but can only find the old one on the site which doesn't look as good. The Mark 3 is quite a bit cooler although not as safe I am sure.

motoprimo (motoprimo.com) has a sale right now (which is where I got mine) which is nice! Talk to Zack, he knows his stuff.

Vanson, Vent Max Mark 3 edition jacket

Yes folks, nothin' beats a mesh jacket in the summer. Glad to see other folks here are getting turned on to 'em.

captain_rat, i almost went with the size medium...but the only problem was when the liner was in it, it was way too small. with the liner out, it was just a bit too small. with the size large, having the liner in is a good nice fit. with the liner out which is how i have it now, there's a slight amount of air that gets into the jacket...but it does not puff up. it fits good. i'd suggest trying them on before making a decision.
