I just totalled a 2006 Kawasaki Z750S prior to my accident my insurance was $800/year for full coverage. I use state farm. They were sickeningly slow to pay - it took a full month from the accident until they paid. It takes them 6 days and 3 attempts to receive a fax (I know because I had to fax them twice, each took 3 attempts). They won't check the bike out themselves they make you take it to a bike shop. However, when they finally paid they paid exactly what I paid for the bike new 3 months and 2400 miles earlier. I didn't have gap insurance either. So, now I have my 06 Speed Triple insured through them. It not costs $600/year! 50% greater displacement 50% more torque 10% more HP and I've always heard that State Farm charges based on your displacement. I was shocked when I got my bill I was expecting to see $1000/yr or more.

I just want to say thanks to all you old farts for driving triumphs safely and responsibly :P ... Hmm, or maybe they don't think I'm dumb enough to total ANOTHER brand new bike. Hah.

BTW, for insurance rate comparison my record is clean, I'm 31 and married have my 2 cars and home insured through them as well and I live in Charlotte, NC which has grown 10 times faster than the roads. It's a big city that refuses to admit it's a big city. It costs roughly the same to insure each of my cars as the Triumph.

I'm a happy camper, sure glad I didn't buy that CBR 1000RR I was looking at.
