I just successfully convinced my girlfriend to go on a three day weekend trip with me on the Triple over 4th of July weekend.

We'll be taking back roads past Mt. Rainier on our way to wine country for the weekend. She's ridden pillion with me before and has complained about the harsh ride. I adjusted the suspension, and now it's too bouncy for her... I'm trying to find the happy medium for her so the trip is enjoyable...

Any suggestions from you guys that regularly take your better half on long rides with you?

Set the static sag just as you would any other time. You need a helper. With you and pillon on the bike in full gear with luggage, have someone measure the difference between fully-extended (unloaded) and with the two of you on it. Measuring between the rear axle and a point on the rear body work is fine. You want a difference of about 30-35mm (1.25 - 1.50 inches). Tweak the preload until you get it in the ballpark (5mm). Repeat for the front, but it's easy to measure using the fork wiper and the triple clamp.
