Wow!!! I had an absolute blast this monday...First track day at Mid-Ohio race track and the triple loves the track especially after the suspension was dialed in...So here is the set up that section8superbike came up with for me 6' 1" 198 lbs in full riding gear.

FORKS Preload( the blue head ) out so you can count 6 lines.
Rebound 1 turn from full in (Left screw)
Compression 3/4 turn from full in (Right Screw)
Rider sag 35mm

Rear Shock Preload (The spring) Showing 5 1/2 threads from the top. This they cranked down two full turns.
Rebound 3/4 turn from full in (Lower screw)
compression 1 1/4 from full in (upper screw)

I hope this helps... it made a huge difference I had it done after the first two sessions and it made the other 4 alot more enjoyable...I will post some pics soon...

Glad to hear that you did well with proper setup. I love Mid-Ohio, have ridden it many times, and look forward to getting some tracktime in there this year with the new surface.

How much did they charge you for your setup?

Wow, makes me feel like a fatass. I've got my fork preload showing only 2 lines, but I'm about 260 pounds with gear on. This is what I needed to get about 31mm sag on the front. Rear preload is about halfway down on the threaded portion. I'm using the comp and rebound setting from the manual for their recommended "firm" setup. The fork, feels great, very precise, not too harsh (although still not locked in like my Bandit 1200 forks after RT springs and valves). The rear needs more comp damping, but still worlds better than the stock setting.

The new pavement was awesome...They charged $50 for the set up...one time charge and you could bring the bike back to them all throughout the day to make changes...They were really great and they have plans to be back to mid-ohio...

When are you thinking of going to mid-ohio tsc17? I'm already trying to make arrangements for aug 1st...

I'm not sure exactly which event(s) I will attend. I need to get in touch with Monte at STT...

I'm sure the surface is great, but now all of my reference points will be gone! All of those cement patches were great for reference. Oh well, I guess it's an excuse to learn the track all over again.

Where about in Ohio do you live?

Man that is a seriously firm ride. Great for the track but just a bit hard for the UK roads.

There goes another potential setup up in smoke. If that's hard for UK roads then major bone shaker and loose tooth fillings over here.
If you Brits think you have bad roads then come over here for a real eyeopener. I know, I've driven on both.

Doesn't six lines of preload effectively soften the spring rate of the front end or are these single-rate springs?
