I'd go and try to pick up the mirrors first, before I'd even consider stopping payment on the check for that reason. In some states, that's just as frowned upon by the law as what the guy did to you.
Even if that's not a major concern in Colorado, it could still be an awkward matter if the bank financed the purchase (which you seem to indicate is the case, if I'm reading correctly). The title to the machine is their security interest in the loan, and they may not want to jeopardize it by having you stop payment on the whole deal because of a couple of mirrors!
Try to work it out with the seller first (and quickly, before the banks open tomorrow). If that's not successful, check with your banker before you do anything drastic. He or she may have a better suggestion than just stopping payment.
