I have my 05 for just over a year now, loved every single mile, every last minute on the bike, (except for last Tuesday in the rain), but my grand total is almost 13000 miles. In your opinion, my esteemed colleagues, and fellow triple riders, is this too many miles (is there such a thing), is this a lot, should I be more warey of it breaking down or going pear shaped on me? I know Triumph engines are built to last, but at what point should I be more cautious, when should I start to trailer on long trips. I have a ride in 3 weeks to CO, on a RAT trip, nearly 1500 miles in total. I'm thinking about trailering, just for the bike, I can handle it, but can the bike? I'm being paranoid I know, just very proud of my bike. How may miles do you have?

dude, keep gett'n it! Screw the trailer! Roadkill has well over 60k miles on his triple. Back in the day when I was a single man, I put 16k miles on my CBR 900rr in a year. Sold that bike when it had just over 30k miles and still ran like a champ! Don't worry about it, just ride it, I'm sure you'll be surprised how long it will last as long as you take care of it. I've seen a CBR and R1 both have over 100k miles with no major problems! :-D

Have you done all your scheduled maintenances? Got clean fully-synth oil in it? Checked your tires, brakes, and chain for wear lately?

If you're OK on those things, "don't worry, be happy!"

A piddly 12,000 miles is NOTHING to a bike if you've taken care of routine service and wearable items. You're not going to have anything go wrong with it that couldn't have just as easily happened at 1000 miles. Prepare for the trip exactly the same as you would have back then.
