I've searched and looked through the forum - not much luck. Is there any site where one can buy Triumph accessories - fly screen, seat cowl, etc - for less than the MSRP?? Somebody has to be out there b/c the MSRP is rediculous for pieces of fiberglass.

AND

I need a rear hugger. Any suggestions? (again, couldn't find a thread on this)

Thanks.

Hey Hooter187,

For aftermarmarket goodies and accessories see a sticky at the top of the speed triple forum. For Triumph stuff I have found Palm Beach Triumph in Florida is good - Palm Beach
They will ship stuff to me cheaper than I can buy it here in Australia, even allowing for the exchange rate.

For discussion and pictures of the Triumph hugger, read this thread - Triumph Hugger

For searching, use the advanced search which you will find at the bottom of the speed triple forum page (in red). The basic search engine is near as dammit to useless

Hooter,

I have yet to see anyone selling new OEM accessories at a reasonable price. eBay is a good source (make sure you set your search to "worldwide"), but I usually see them pop up here first (either this forum, or the classifieds section). I have yet to pay full MSRP for any OEM bits.

Because of the new style of your S3, the bits are more scarce. So you will likely either have to wait, or shell out for the higher prices.

Motorcycle Accessories Discount Superstore is the best I have found for stock Triumph accessories. Not all that cheap and their shipping is on the high side but better than my local dealer.

I ordered my shoes from Pure Triumph in Ft. Lauderdale. I paid a bit over MSRP, but as you're seeing they ALL charge over MSRP. What I liked was I ordered online and they shipped it the next day. So at least if I had to pay a bit more, I got it quick.

The only tip I have, is negotiate with your dealer.

When I bought my S3, I took in a printout of all the parts I wanted and also took in a printout of the MSRP. When they came to me with their quote, I whipped out the MSRP printout and asked what they could do. They agreed to match it (your mileage may vary, I was buying about $1500 worth), and they also offer a 10% discount to RAT members, so I got it all for 10% under MSRP.

Unlike the rice rockets and Harleys with a gazillion aftermarket parts available, by choosing an exclusive brand like Triumph you have to pay a little more by buying OEM parts from Triumph distributors. I bought my seat cowl and hugger from Triumph dealers and I'm happy with the quality of the plastic and the parts fit perfectly. Unless the part is used and resold on eBay I can't see how anyone could get it cheaper than MSRP less the RAT member discount. If you do find a cheaper source, please don't keep it a secret.

See my post above. Motorcycle Accessories Discount Superstore do sell below MSRP, looks like they typically knock 16% off.

CB - I just placed an order for the carbon fender and rad covers (as well as gave Shift-Tech the TriumphRat Web address) so the line forms behind me! actually, Tracker should get credit because I was inspired by his pics in another post.
