never run , he prolly would have been ok if he just stopped eventhough he was doing 144, I was clocked at 125 in a 55 I stopped and apoligized and the nj trooper gave me a break!

Lol, just doing over 100mph anywhere is a an instant 3-6pts on your license. Pretty sure double the speed limit is a felony, but yeah, he wouldn't have been paying 20k for a 140mph speeding ticket. However, some cops go nuts on sport bikers regardless of what they were doing.

I had a guy riding with me 2 weeks ago get pulled over for supposedly doing 86 in a 55 around a fairly tight curve. Considering I was leaving him behind doing 80mph around that curve earlier, I have serious doubts he was going that fast. Anyway, the cop pulled him over when we stopped at the stop sign, shortly after we passed the cop, and the officer started screaming at him as soon as he got out of the car, told him to get off his bike, pulled his key out of the ignition and actually THREW it! He then screamed at another guy we were riding with and myself to get out of there as we were taking our helmets off to sit and wait. We went down the road and waited. An hour later we decided to leave and we assumed the guy had taken a different way home.

Later when we heard from the guy, he said the cop was making all kinds of accusations about him running, was trying to give him a reckless operation, and a whole slew of other BS. No wonder the cop told us to leave. Anyway, I'd hate to be pulled over for doing 140 and have a cop like THAT get out of the car. That guy's ass would have been rolling to the clink in the back of the car and his bike impounded. Some cops are psychotic about sport bikes...
