If you did, what was the make/model of the bike and were was it stolen from?

Way back in '03, I lived in an apartment complex and rode an SV650S. I always locked the bike up via a heavy chain, etc, in our carport.

Well, the wife and I went to Germany for a friend's wedding for a week and when we returned...the bike was still there (we got back on Labor Day). Just three days later, I went back to my house to pick up something while at work (around 3 PM) and the bike was gone. :???:

Stolen in broad daylight! No eye witnesses, nothing left but a busted chain and metal shavings. I remember it was a strong gut reaction, like someone had kicked me or like a case of the stomach flu. Very, very bad experience.

About four bikes were stolen that day from the area and mine was one of 4. Oddly enough, they never touched some of the expensive Harley's in the lot. They must have been too heavy to lift.

Oddly enough, the bike was recovered last summer and I had a chance to view it and get some pics. How depressing.

Anyone else have their bike jacked? Was it a Triumph? :???:

Never had a bike stolen, but a good friend did...with no insurance. Paid for three years for a bike that he no longer had...tough lesson to learn.

I had a car stolen when I was around 19 years old after I had spent thousands on wheels, tires, paint, stereo, etc. I know the feeling all too well. Never wish that on anybody.

Sorry for your loss. Hope you are enjoying every day with your Triple!!!

Had a very nice GPz 1100 stolen. Very weird experience. Woke up in the morning and looked out the window to the driveway and no bike. Thought, okay, maybe I parked it around the corner. It's a real sinking feeling.

Called the cops. They said a couple other 1000/1100 Kawasakis had been ripped off the same night. At the time, those were the hot engines for drag bikes and such. Probably had it stripped by the time I'd called. Ba$tards.

Speedy and der beemerschcooter sleep indoors, under cover.

The only bike I ever had stolen was a CZ 400 Dirt Bike. Worse, it didn't even run. I came back from a week long vacation to find it missing from the garage (which had no doors). The cops found it a couple of weeks later down the hill from our place and submerged in a creek.

The moron who stole it was trying to bump start it down the hill, and when it wouldn't start just dumped it. All it really needed was a new set of points (it ate them on a regular basis.)

Not stolen, but I had a GPz 1100. I came home one evening about 1:00 am, and found that it had been brutally vandalized. Busted headlight, mirrors and gauge glass, slashed seat, slashed tires, keyed all painted surfaces and cut the break lines.

It cost a bunch to replace all that stuff. I eventually got new tires, break lines, head lamp etc., but the paint... I just removed all the plastic and spainted the paint flat black. Then, it became a true naked bike, the origins for my streetfighter desire....

Now, I own an S3!

In 1988, in a suburb of Vancouver, Canada, I had my 1987 GSXR750 stolen. It was recovered a few days later after the theives (tw-up!) crashed it, fleeing the police.

I was insured, but I still felt violated.
