Hi Guy's, Just wondering why the header pipes on the 05-06 Speedtriples Discolour so badly, The pipes on my 02-04 had a bit of discolouration but know where near the 06's. I wonder if the chrome is different.

The pipes aren't chromed, they are stainless steel, and you better get used to the discolouration, it happens to all of them. My headers are now brown, and I clean and polish them regularly (15,000kms)

You wanna hide that ugly discoloration ? Check out this stuff ---->http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

If your bike is black, this header wrap in black should complement your bike and make it look even meaner, if that is what you like.

I hazard a guess that with the Seconary air injection, the headers run much hotter than thay would normally do > discolouration.

I'd like to see pics of the wrapped pipes - black would be cool, I think. Now, what to do about this:

I like the gold-brown look! It accents the black (what other color) and goes well with the gold forks. I also makes the ***** bike seem like it has been ridden hard instead of being a museum display!
