You can always disable the gear change lights completely or adjust the light up revs to whatever you prefer. If the leds are annoying you that is.

I'd forgotten those LEDs were even there. It would be nice to use them for something else.

Radar detector's not good for me since I live in Virginia (they're illegal here). I wonder what else they could be used for? Maybe set them up somehow as a gear indicator, or maybe a fuel guage?

I'm guessing that changing their purpose would not be trivial and might require creating a third party board with a small microcontroller. Sounds like a cool project though.

This sounds like an even better reason to hide the detector and only display the light through those lights? I thought illegal was only illegal when you got caught? Certainly you'd be adding this to avoid getting caught doing other illegal things...like speeding.

I kind of like the shift lights but I would like to get a V1 remote display integrated into the dash or the bat wing. Where do you mount the detector, under the headlights?

Ha! Busted? :???: That was last Nov. If I had that mod to the bike last year I may have avoided incarceration. Don't think I haven't thought about installing a radar detector.

The current plan is track days! At least until my 1 year probationary period is up. After my trip to the Dragon in April, I realized that I can't control myself enough to keep my speeds down. And that was on a Buell!

Virginia has rough speeding laws. I got nabbed for reckless driving last Sept. 92 in a 55. No prior record of any kind. The last ticket on my record was in 2001. I had a lawyer. (a sucky-ass lawyer). The judge gave me 30 days with 29 days suspended.

So I did my day last year in Nov and I have to be real careful until this Nov or they might give me some of the other 29 days.
