With the single exhaust I have removed most of the back end Inc the V parcel shelf under the rear light, on my 05 Speed triple.

Has anyone got any trick idea's for mounting the number plate to keep its sleak look.

Any help will be very much appriciated..

Here is a custom one I did...
Eliminator
Diagram
Side View

I built the whole thing in my garage using a jig saw, vice, Hammer and a board to keep from denting up the metal while making bends.

I works perfect and the blinkers are clear of the exhaust.

Pic of install

Sorry I don't have a better pic... My bike is in the shop 100 miles from here so I can't take a new one.

PM me if you need more info, I will give you my phone #

Looks good. :upthumb: You need to shave down those subframe rails though. All the old exhaust and passenger peg mount lugs really stick out now.

What tank protector is that?

Both of those home jobs look pretty darn good! Where's the best place to pick up some metal?

Looks great.

I want to modify my Mad Doctor rear end so that it can flip up and down at the touch of a button. Radar cameras etc.

I am thinking of using either a pushbike deraileur or a model airplane servo unit.

Any ideas out there?

Try this:
Retractable Licence Plate

They're a bit pricey at $150 so I have been thinking along the same lines as you... a roadbike shifter and cable. That may be a little slow and inconvenient though.

The one pictured retracts when the licence plate light goes out (bike ignition off) which could easily be augmented with an interrupt switch mounted on the handlebars. Another bonus I see to this activation is that if you shut the bike off with the kill switch (God forbid) or the kickstand the lights would stay on and the plate would stay down--this would save you a ticket if you ever got pulled over on the road (failure to display licence plate).

I saw a plate a long time ago that used to make a glass panel turn opaque with electric charge, similar to the expensive bathroom glass that is available in houses.

Anybody know what I am talking about?
