Why does it have to be so freakin hard to find info on exhausts!? And why can't manufacturers put something together that people actually want!?

My dilemma is this:

I am looking for an aftermarket exhaust for my 03 S3. I've done all of the searching and browsing one can possibly do and have yet to come up with an exhaust that I REALLY like for my bike (other than the underseat systems which I can't afford).

It may be that there is one that exists, but... the manufacturers only place photos on their websites showing "windowed" frames of the exhaust itself in the most flattering pose possible. I want to see each from different views. If I end up paying $500 for a silencer that I find unsightly I will be extremely peeved.

I know that the whole exhaust thing gets kicked around week after week but I am ready to rip my hair out trying to decide between high mount, low mount, titanium, stainless, etc.

Is there a manufacturer that makes a high mount exhaust that isn't too long and doesn't require mmovement of the passenger pegs and has a pipe connection that matches the rest of the pipe (Jardine) and looks good on the bike? Sort of like the TOR high mount - only not in carbon? :???:

Take a look at www.trident-exhausts.com - we do our silencers 16" long which do not need any relocation of the pegs or indicators and you can have stainless, carbon or titanium in low or high mount

You can see pictures of both low and high on the site and if you need any more I can email them to you

Thanks again Peter.

Does anyone (other than Rino or TechmanBD) have pics of their Trident high or low exhaust that they could share with me? Please?

I had an Akrapovic carbon slip-on on my '02. It was every bit as nice as one would expect from Akra. When I bought it the major contenders on my short list were Akra, Arrow, and Giannelli. I think that Arrow and Giannelli are essentially the same, their respective sites offer plenty of information on the product. Good luck!

You've seen the TBR exhaust I have on my 02 but if you want photos from any other angle let me know and I'll take some... I'm really happy with mine and I love the way it sounds!

Thanks guys. I definitely like the TBR that you have Catamount, but...

I'm still not convinced that I want a low mount. I'm 50-50 when it comes to high or low. I initially wanted a high mount when I bought the bike but the low mount has kinda grown on me. I'll check into the M4 and Gianelli but I'm leaning toward buying a Trident from Peter.

Maybe if Peter would cut me a deal or something... :-D I'd make sure to post plenty of pics afterward in case others run into the same dilemma...

I tell you what - I'll do you a high mount and throw in the link pipe and fittings to go low mount for free - that way you can swap between the two whenever you like (only takes 5 minutes tops) and have both looks.
