Hi Guys,

a while back someone asked me what screen i used when I went to Switzerland, well here are some pics of it.

Before you guys flame me for putting one on the S3 I am the first to admit that its not the most beautiful thing but it does work well and keeps enough of the windblast off you to allow a whole days riding at higher speeds.

here's a link http://www.mototwin.com/bonnieworld.php?id=503

If there's anyone out there putting up with spongy brakes I recommend them try the pushing back the pistons in the calipers thing. it has transformed my brakes which seem to be keeping a good pressure. its quick and easy and means you wont have to wait weeks for your dealer to sort out.

Regards

I'm assuming that it's the screen designed for the Bonnie (couldn't find it under the Speed Triple accessory section), so, my main concerns are a) is it hard to fit, and b) will it do a good job in defelcting wind at high speed for someone who's 6'2"?

I'm going on a 2,500 southern European trip with a group of fast riders on R1s, GSXRs, etc, and while I have no problem staying with them in the twisties it gets pretty tiring on the straights.

I've tried other options with the Triumph Fly Screen and additional bolt-on screens, but without much success.

As I only need it for this trip I don't want to spend another wodge of cash to discover that all I get is buffeting, so your advice would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks...

"WOw, thats the worst thing I have ever saw, bet you get a free bowl of soup with that thing... looks good on you though"...... -Caddyshack.

Actually kinda neat, just doesn't look right on an S3.

Agreed - but for occasional high speed distance work I could live with it for short periods...

AHH, What the H**# is that thing. Come on its a nakid bike....... :hammer: I know, I know it helps you ride longer days, faster. I kinda think thats poo poo talk, You can ride the S3 without a screen for just as long, just leave your pink taco at home and bring the big brass ones. Just kidding but you won't ever see that on my baby............My suggestion is ask el-cheapo for a loan and by a Yamaha FZ for your long days but leave the beautifully nakid bike alone. My two cents.........

Know what your saying RedNeck, and totally agree. I've ridden nakeds all my life and never had a screen, so my neck muscles are like steel girders. I don't know many that can hang with me for long when the speeds get interesting.

But I'm travelling with a bunch of sportsbike guys who really don't hang around and I can tell you that a 500-mile day spent at 130+ just trying to keep up ain't much fun. (Well, it is for the first hour or so...). Neither is it much fun when you're flat out on the tank with the speedo showing 150mph and the ***** fly past you like you're standing still.

I know that's not what the S3 is about, but it's the only bike I've got. Obviously, I need a sportsbike for these occasions, but I've already bust the bank on the S3, so I'm just looking for a bit of cheap removable comfort for odd occasions.

That's all...
