I have no idea what coolant to buy for my speed triple..
Is this what I want???

I am using Engine Ice

I needed to change it out for a track day... glad I did.
I live in Florida, The Temps will be 90+ F ( 32+ C ) until November ...Its just HOT!
The S3 seems to be a hot running machine. I dropped one line on average on the temp scale using Engine ice

I was just getting ready to recommend Engine Ice too, but Hairball beat me to it!
It's good for summer and winter, helps this hot running bike run cooler, and is approved by most (all?) trackday organizations.

Cool (hey) will have to see if we can get it over here in the uk... is a pre-mix or do you have to prepare the 50/50 yourself?

Evans makes a good coolant that doesn't use water, so keeps your cooling system like new. And it doesn't vaporize at high temps like water/Glycol. Evans

Yes, and I swear by it now. My bike used to spew coolant after a long blast followed by sitting in traffic. With the 350 F boiling point, it hasn't happened with the Evans yet. As long as your system is flushed and working properly, this stuff is the way to go, IMO. I filled my system Nov, '04., with the NPG.

it has been my experience with Triumph's that they do like to spew coolant... mine is looking pretty empty at the mo.. below the minimum.. but I don't have anything to fill it back up with.. if you go evans you have to flush completely out? I have no idea how to do that.. is it hard?? don't you get air bubbles etc??

With Evans, you have to follow their instructions, which are pretty easy, but yeah, you have to remove almost all traces of water with their preflush stuff. I sent a sample of my coolant back in a film container after I flushed and filled, and it came back at 4 % water, which is an acceptable amount. The besat way to drain your Water/ Glycol is to pull the drain plug on the left cylinder jacket, and remove the lowest hose by the water pump. They recommend using a rad flush first, but with a new bike, I would just flush with a hose, then follow the Evans instructions. A bit of work, but from my experience, you will be happy in the long run. It's supposedly a lifetime coolant, so worth the 50+- investment. And about the air bubbles, all you have to do is massage the hoses, especially the top left hand side one, to get the bubbles to work out. Patience will set it right.
