My RAT is hosting a cheap track day at the local motorcycle/kart track tomorrow ($75 for the day, includes lunch and teeshirt).

Anyway, I was thinking of using this as an opportunity to adjust my suspension. What tools do I need? Do I use a wrench to turn the 2-sided nut at the top of the forks, or do I use a flathead scredriver to turn the brass screw set inside the 2-sided nut? To set the sag on the rear do I just use a flathead scredriver and a mallet to turn the big nuts on the shock/spring?

Nevermind...I read the manual.

Bike handled much better when I switched front end rebound and compression to "firm" settings (per the manual). I changed the rear compression to firm, but the adjuster screw for the rebound was stuck-- the imbalance caused a little skittishness (OK, full out rear wheel hop and lock) of the ass end under heavy braking and downshifting (uhmm, and not matching revs close enough) at the end of the straightaway coming into a 135deg corner, but it'll be sorted for next time. I've got better scredrivers and WD-40 at home to take care of that adjuster.

The manual says that rear sag cannot be rider adjusted??? Why not? It looks as though I could just jack the bike up by the frame (not rear wheel) to relieve the weight on the shock, then screw the threaded collers in. Right? Does applying more pressure to the spring reduce sag, or is it vice versa?
