any S3 owners going on the RAT Ride from Pete's Cycle Baltimore to Harper's Ferry 6/25?

I inquired about the route last night and the response I got was "All registered riders will get a map book. Due to an agreement between Triumph, the dealer and the Pack, the exact directions will not be released until the day of the ride......... I can tell you that it will go through several counties, the Catoctin Mtns., Antietam Battlefield, and Harpers Ferry W.V. The route is also 99% back roads!"

I'm going just checking if anyone on this forum is going

jimmydean-
I just moved from MD (Havre De Grace) to TX, whatever you do enjoy those wonderful "back roads"..... I miss that with all the flat stuff we have here in TX. I'll try to get a few of my old triumph buds to post up.

I forgot about that one. It wouldn't make sense for me to drive down to Pete's only to backtrack after I got there. There are some nice back roads in that area. Shame they're going through Catoctin on a weekend. Most likely they'll get stuck behind site seers or RVs.

Fun roads in that area though.

Too bad you razor. There is another guy I spoke to a few weeks back that rides the Harper's Ferry area......but I'll have to look thru some old posts to find him. I live on the Eastern Shore just accross the Bay Bridge..............flat down here as well thats why I'm looking forward to this ride to find some new routes.

Keystone- did you bid on the B'Rothelsburger gear? I'm originally from Johnstown myself. Was thinking of headn northeast to the Pocono run but it's the same weekend I'm headed to the Dragon

Hey Jimmy,

Where about's are you in MD. I live over by Harpers Ferry, my buddy has a Sprint ST, and we usually ride every Sunday on the surrounding backroads.

Huff,

Look for black '99 S3 along with a black Multistrada 1000 DS passing thru Harper's Ferry on Sunday afternoon. We'll be coming back from a 3-day out and back down thru W. Va. For that matter, we'll be going to Paw Paw MD on Friday morning via Rt 340, H.F. and back roads...

Huff- I live on Kent Island (just accross the Bay Bridge) but work in DC. We'll have to hook up; looking for more places to ride then down here. I ride with two friends- one on a Duc the other on a Buell........poor bastards  Anyway I'm planning on this RAT ride to HF. Not sure where we'll end up yet; maybe we could hook up sometime. Love to learn the roads that way!

Ronin- where the heck is PawPaw?

MD05- you should come out. Sounds like it will be fun. A bunch of Triumphs on the road sounds great to me......I've only evr seen just mine

Heading to the Dragon with a few friends the 7-10th. Have another post out there but seems no one is wanting to go :hammer:

Jimmy,

Good question on Paw Paw, MD. And one that I quite goofed up.

Turns out it doesn't exist. More like Paw Paw, WV.... Anyway, 18.5 miles SE of Cumberland MD on the Potomac River. If you live on Kent Island there's an outside chance that you know boats and navigation so try this on some map software for the location:

N 39 32.073
W 78 27.428

We're going to Paw Paw because my brother wants to cross the toll bridge in Oldtown, MD to head back into WV. Seems as good a reason as any to ride some back roads I suppose.

Best,
Ronin
