I came home from a ride yesterday (bike's running great) and all I have to do before pouring a pint is put the bike away. I hit the starter button - the starter hardly wants to turn over and then I get nothing more than a "clickclickclick" from the start relay.

I put the battery on my Diehard charger (2 amp) for about 4 hours and it did not indicate a full charge, however, the bike did start right away.

The bike is an '02 that I bought new in June '04. Do ya'll think my battery crapped out in a matter of minutes?

I've seen this happen with a car battery - battery dies like a light bulb.

Did You lock the Steering? It's very easy to go one click more and leave those stupid parking lights on. I did that and left the bike for about 2 hrs and click, click, click. I charged her up and was good to go.

that's a good point xspeed3x. What's with the d*mn parking lights anyways??? :???: Do they really serve a purpose? Does anyone actually use it intentionally? Don't mean to hijack the thread, but does kinda go hand in hand.

No, did not lock the steering. I was away from the bike for about 5 minutes. My fiancee has an '01 S3, I'm concerned that this might happen to her also. What sucks (besides having to fix the #&^* thing is that it went out of warranty a week ago and I always keep the battery on a Battery Tender in the off season. At least it happended at home.
