My '06 makes a noticeable ticking noise at idle. I searched for can sound clips and found this stock one:

www.triumphrat.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Forum&file=viewtopic&t opic=25717&forum=19&start=45

In the above clip the sound is predominantly the whistling intake, but my ticks fight for the attention:

Here's the bike with 1400 dirty miles on it. I have a bag o' mods to install on it after I get back from out of town in a week:

Is this something I should be worried about or am I insanely paranoid?

I couldn't play either file but you should not have loud clicking. Fuel injectors click a little (the SAGEM injectors were very quiet as fuel injectors go, I don't know about the kehins). but you should not hear them above the engine. Probably need to get the valve clearence checked.

I revved it a little bit, but you can hear it at idle near the beginning for sure.
