I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced cracks in the tail section near the outside edge inbetween the riders seat and passengers seat. My bike still has a year of warranty left on it, and I am going to take it in and see what they say.

Yep, thats part of why I switched to the T509/595 tail section. The 02-04 plastics are *****. One of my tabs snapped off also where the two sections are clipped together as well. That and I didn't like the beetle-butt looking Suzuki SRAD styling. Looks good with an undertail exhaust though. I just wish they'd made those plastics a bit thicker and stronger. The T509/595 doesn't have those stupid tabs. I just don't get why they went that route.

How much modification is involved in switching to the older tail section?

BTW, your bike looks sweet.

Just need a 595/509 subframe, tail plastics, cowl or rear seat, and undertail. The subframe is a direct swap. The only modification I had to make was drilling two holes in the battery box to use the existing push plugs for the ECU. Other than that. The only things that don't line up are the two front panel bolt holes, but the tail plastic is so rigid you end up not even needing them. There are 6 other mounting points so I just covered up those holes with grip pads.

My 03 did the same thing and my dealer was able to get it covered under warranty. If your dealership gives you any grief over it contact Todd and Darcy at Team Triumph of Wisconsin. There web site is www.triumph1.com

Yes! covered by warranty!
Thanks for the feedback guys. I finally got my bike down to the shop (Southeast Sales in Milwaukee) They looked at the cracks and submitted a claim to Triumph and it was approved.
Now I just have to come up with a fix so that it won't happen again.
