Bad luck Dr, hope you are feeling ok. Bikes are just bikes, as long as you are alright.

I'm sorry to hear about your crash!

In a non-motorcycle-related accident, I broke my right arm 10 weeks ago. My car also has a manual transmission, so I had the same problem driving.

sorry to hear about the accident, but glad you survived it.

looking back, do you think there was anything that you could have done either before the accident occurred or when it was happing?

where you in any way driving in the truck's blind spot?

where you passing at a slower than normal speed?

where you not passing at all - just traveling at same speed when the accident occurred?

again, just curious if you had any reflective thoughts about what you could have done, or will do in the future, to keep you out of harm's way.

please note, this question is not in anyway attempting to put blame at your feet; I know we all reflect after such an incident about what might have been done differently....

glad you're OK!

There's only three kinds of riders: Those that have crashed, those that will crash, and those that will crash again. I'm trying to remain part of the first category, but unfortunately I feel I'm probably part of the last. Sigh.

Sorry to hear about the incident, and glad to hear you're okay. That's the most important part. Bikes are just things, in a universe full of things. People are each unique.

Too bad you live so far away. I might be tempted to make an offer on your engine, as it seems to be the only thing left salvageable!

Hey dr,

Glad to hear that you are OK. From the description of the accident it sounds like you were very lucky.

There is a bright side to this......when you get your new bike you will be able to go through the break in period again.
