running excellent. i had the mobil1 mx4t in there before i switched to redline. the mx4t had 1,393 miles on it.

i bought a purolator pl-14610 along with the redline 15w50. after the change, i took the bike for a 40 mile cruise, 30 of those miles being on the highway. it's running very good. i never even heard the fan come on...and it's about 90 degrees right now with blue sunny skies. changing gears seems to feel better, if that makes any sense.

on a side note, my father and i have been using redline oils in our motorcycles for the past 12 years. my father tore down his crankcase on his 88 sportster a few years back and the inside looked FLAWLESS. totally amazing. this schit really works. buy it. you will NOT be disappointed.

I did find redline at cyclegear , but they only carry 10/40 and 20/50 , is there any problems with 20/50 in Texas ? I mean I don't usually ride when it's below 40F and right now it's 75-100 every day.

online shipping makes it too high.

What about mixing ? 10/40 mixed 50/50 with 20/50
should yield a 15/45 ?

don't mix weights.the 20w50 will be fine for you down there year round, and will help on those hot days.

as a side note:synthetics arn't good for breaking in a motor.best to use after the engine is throughly "run in".say after 1500 to 2000 miles.

There's a lot of articles that support conventional oil for break-in, but the 05-06 come from the factory filled with synthetic.

it's about as debateable as break in procedures.i believe some of the more exotic cars, that i can't afford, also come from the factory with synthetic in them.i guess it depends on how old school you are.do you know what brand of synthetics triumph uses?just curious.

Mobil 1 Racing 4t... Triumph has branded it... but it's 4t...

I'm always interested in keeping temps down in any engine. If the Red-line is worth a few degrees more of cooling VS 4t... I'm all over it...

I would not call my pontiac transam an "exotic" car. And has
allways had mobil 1 in it.
