Secondary Throttle Plates? What are those? I'm sure if they greatly increase performance, my father will rip those out and get a custom dyno tuning. He's already got the PCIII in it, took out the cat and installed a full Jardine exhaust. Its like a friggin' bass cannon now.

You're better of with a Tuneboy. The PC III can't change the throtle settings. TuneBoy vs PC III

SEC (Secondary Throttle Table)
The SEC table shows the position of the secondary throttle plate for each gear and RPM location (See below). A value of 0 is fully closed and a value of 255 is fully open. The Rocket III uses this table to limit power in the first three gears. If you change all values to 255 you will have full power in all gears.

You can remove the secondaries by simply unscrewing the plates from the control rod. However with Tuneboy you can change the ignition maps also. Triumph limited the power output of the Rocket by using the secondaries in the first few gears and by changing the ignition maps for the first few gears. By removing or leaving the secondaries open and copying the 3rd through 5th gear ignition maps to 1st and 2nd gear you can have "full power" The only thing about Tuneboy right now there are ***** for custom tunes and with a Jardine set up they are going to backfire like an SOB on decel. So PCIII is good for now until some better tunes surface or you can find a tuner familiar with Tuneboy.

The map 203mph posted shows the secondary table. 255 is the value for fully open so you can see this tune chokes it off quite a bit in the first few gears.

Hmmm, well I could probably sell my father's PCIII on ebay for a decent price and have him buy the Tuneboy kit for his bike. I've got the Tuneboy for my 955 and love it, but that would set him back another $400 or so. Thanks for the info though.
