Would appreciate if any of you people have or have access to a Yam R1 or maybe an R6.
I reckon the 2002/3 models have a nissin master cylinder similar to ours.
Would I would like to know is whether these models have a 5/8 master cylinder. The size is cast on the rear part of the cylinder.
Nil stock so I wanna be 100% sure it's a 5/8 b4 laynig down my hard earned beans to order one. Seems cheaper here than Lilley or Skyking.
Why Yam, well because they're the only manufacturer that sells just the master. Don't need the lever or the tupperware.

TIA.

I checked out an 03 R1 today, it has a 14mm master cylinder.

05 R6 with the radial master cylinder is 16mm though, which is slightly larger than 5/8 - but you'd have to buy the lever at least, ands fabricate a bracket for the reservoir.

Not good news for you, I'm afraid.

Thanks Druid,
oh oh and I thought R1 had 5/8 axials.
Radials are out for me, intend to keep the pazzos.

Anyone else had a look?

Attached is pic of where to find the size. As I said dont need lever or tub.

Sparti thanks for the tipbut easier said than done, there aren't any wreckers over here, at least not that I know of.

Besides we do not write off bikes here, with the cost of new ones being sky high ('orrible registration tax 55%) and relatively cheap labour costs, tendency is to recycle.....sorry about the corny pun......

I checked the Kawi website and the master comes with all the gubbins and is more expensive than the Yam version.

I can get a new Yam master for about 2/3 the UK price (normally it's the otherway 'round).
I just wanna make sure I dont get another useless 14mm one.

Sparti

Thanks, well here are some prices for a new master cylinder in US of A dollars:
Jack Lilley: $145
Local Yam dunno if 5/8) $110
Local Kawi $232 ouch.

I reckon US$60us for a master in good nick (not requiring seal replacement or scored bore is reasonable, again depending on post halfway across the globe..........

Thanks again Sparti.
