Hi everyone! I just bought a 1995 orange Speed Triple, and thought I'd introduce myself here. I haven't been able to find very much in the way of Speed Triple resources online, and this forum seems like it might just do the trick.

I'm a brand new rider, and I was looking for a used Kawasaki Ninja 250 or 500 to start out with, but I couldn't pass up the deal on this S3. It's clearly very different from a small Ninja, and I didn't know anything about them, but I fell in love with it when I went to see it. It's in great condition mechanically, looks gorgeous for a 10-year old bike (has one small dent in the tank and a couple of tiny scratches), has low mileage, and was being sold for a great price by an honest owner. It's a lot bigger, both physically and in engine displacement/power than I hoped for for my first motorcycle, but I'm not the reckless sort, am taking safety classes and am dedicated to wearing full gear, so hopefully I won't get myself killed... but if I do, it'll be with a great big smile on my face.

A couple of questions: does anybody have any links to full spec-sheets for the 1995 S3? I found plenty of things for more recent vintage S3s, but almost nothing for 1995. The bike didn't come with an owner's manual, so I don't even have that... how hard would it be to get a hold of one? And finally, anybody know of good S3 or general Triumph organizations, or good motorcycling groups in general in the San Francisco Bay Area in California?

Thanks. :-D

Eug,

welcome to the club!

i'm not very familiar with the older versions of the S3, so i can't offer any real help in that department, but as a new rider in the bay area, check out BARF, a great resource for all things about motorcycling in the bay area and beyond.

good luck, ride safe!

Hey Eug, welcome and as others have said, ignore the shiite these monkeys come out with - Cheap is a fag, better believe it, so if you're that way inclined, he's your man  (not that there is anything wrong with that - I'm not gay, but I've slept with a bloke who was  )

You can get the manual from Haynes or Clymers, just google it or go to Amazon or your local parts outlet.

Also, Trypcil has an oldie, you may want to PM him for some nitty.

Enjoy it, but please, paint it black! :-D
