I want to put some gold renthals on my baby, just wondering if any one knows which bars most closely resemble the stock measurements. Or, if anyone has put something different on, how do you like it.

... Part No A B C D E
... GENERIC HIGH 756-01 710 120 105 185 105
... GENERIC LOW 754-01 730 105 75 185 125
... GENERIC MEDIUM 755-01 725 115 85 185 105
... GENERIC STREET FIGHTER 789-02 755 100 60 195 80
... GENERIC ULTRA-LOW 758-01 725 75 50 185 95

These are measurements (hard to follow without picture) from the renthal website, can go here to see table.
http://www.renthal.com/applications.asp clicky the road tab.

IMHO the Streetfighter bars are just like the stock bars, only about 1/2inch extra each side. All cables would fit but brake line just about.

Ultra Lows are pretty much exactly the same as the stock. Same bend & maybe a few mm wider.

I have the Ultra Lows and as they are the same as stock, the ride is the same. For some reason the Ultra Lows seem to trasmit more engine vibes to my hands though. Not much, but enough to notice.

The vibes thing might also be due to the fact I have the Renthals rotated much more forward, so I have more weight on my arms than I had previously.

I have the 754 Lows. They are higher than stock and require new brake lines but all other cables fit fine. I find the ride height good and don't experience any vibration. I have however put Renthal gold bar end weights on as in pic.

Although Renthal specifically advises agains any drilling, punching or marking of the bars as this increases the possibility of fatigue failure.

I opted for Stanley knifing the plastic locator bumps off the swithgear as I am a small girl at heart and the warning got me spooked.

Martin do you have a cross brace on the Ultra Lows?
My 'Streetfighter' bars came with one.

Hey Avi8tor, my street fighters have a cross brace too, which I'm not liking too much. Anybody ever just taken the brace off??

I just happend to have my streetfighter bars sitting next to me, I haven't installed yet.

I loosened the allen bolt... tight, and plenty of Loctite, I swiveled the crossbar up and realized, It probably can be removed... Probably would leave marks at the crossbar attachments.

Black might be easy to hide marks with a Sharpie, But mine are gold....

I put the crossbar back together, I didn't want to regret scratching the bar before they were installed... ">
