What method did you use to remove the break-in, etc stickers from the tank and the crappy looking stick-on reflectors on my front forks (one already blew off on it's own). There are so many products out there I thought it would be better to ask what others have successfully used to avoid any paint damage. I'm thinking something like lighter fluid would be acceptable to remove any remaining adhesive. Thx..

I use the WD-40.
It's cheap and always laying aroung. Plus it works easy.
As far as the fork reflectors I just ripped them off pushed as much goo off as I could then WD-40.

Cheap and effective :hammer:

I used Goo Gone to remove some stickers on hidden parts of my tank and the residue from the tank pad a couple of weeks ago. No paint issues. Of course, I was also taking it to get painted shortly after. But it looked good anyway.

Paint Stripper. But thats only because the last tank I did it to was getting repainted

WD-40 or a heavy bug and tar remover...

Just used Goo-Gone to remove the residue from my reflectors, which were already coming off anyways. The reflector on the ridiculously long rear fender also fell off before I even had a chance to hack it off. I guess they must figure EVERYONE is going to clean up the look a bit, might as well make it e-z. Or maybe double sided carpet tape passes for a proper method of adhesion on the other side of the pond...I wanted to remove the 1050 decal across the tank as well, but looks like thats under clear coat.

Thx for the advice...much appreciated. I used WD40 and they all came off slick as can be with apparently no ill-effect on the tank paint. I wouldn't have thought twice on anything else but this forum is such a great resource of experience from great people it's just too easy to ask - even about the little things.

Cheers...
