I am a relatively new 2003 S3 owner (I bought 97TB's bike) and had the bike out for a short 100 mile scoot . My knee was killing me by the end of the trip - kind of asleep/throbbing. I am fairly tall (6'2") and think the problem may be the leg position cutting off circulation. Does anyone make foot controls that lower the foot pegs? Sorry if this questions has been answered before - I didn't find it in my searches.

Other than that, what a fun bike. I would just like to make some adjustments so I can ride it longer.

Thanks.

Most of the rearsets I've found are set up to put average height people in racing position more than accommodate taller people. I am 6'5 and feel your pain (not literally, but I would like different rearsets).

I'm in your boat. I could only stand about an hour at a time this weekend. I'd have to pull over and walk around. I was thinking lower pegs, but also a taller seat. I'd probably have to get that custom made though. It would be nice to have an inch or more.

I've also thought that a bit more room between seat and pegs would be nice. But I'm not too keen on the idea of lowering the pegs since I already touch done on occasion. Currently, I'm using a beaded seat cover that helps a little, being that it provides an extra 1/2" or so of lift. Like Alaska mentioned, building up the seat and having it re-covered might be the way to go.

I'm 5'11" and have the same pain after a half hour in one knee. I found I just have adjust the position of my foot every5 to 10 mins.
Wonder if those LSL rearsets would help?

I had a near highside on my 99' S3, and tore my ACL. I just had replacement surgey a month ago, and I'm just now able to bend my knee enough to get my foot under the shifter peg. Luckily 3rd gear on my 06' S3 is all you need!! :-D

*****, Now I'm glad I'm only 5'8". Always wanted to to be taller but now I'm just average.

Huf,

I had the same surgery last summer. It's tough but hang in there.

I'm 6 ft 1in and don't have a problem on my S3. It's no tourer but it is comfortable enough.

Hey Derby, I use too get severe cramp in my right inner thigh on long trips on my 02 S3, Never found out what caused it maybe leg angle on the pegs, maybe vibration I'm 6ft1. But it never put me off riding it. But fuk it was annoying.

Don't get me wrong - I have no intention of getting rid of my S3 or not riding it. It's just that I rode an '02 guzzi stone up to pick up my S3 in conneticut where it lived all winter. A stone is a big cruiser with a seat like a lazy-boy. Super comfy but a lot less zip than the s3. On the way home on the S3 - I had a blast thanks to no traffic on the curvy Merrit Parkway - but the pain was there and I had to see if there is a way to fix it. I knew I couldn't be the only one in this situation. Hey parts suppliers - build it and I'll buy it.
