finally got my gf to record me. unfortunately, we were in a parking lot so i could not get on the throttle. nonetheless, you can still hear the exhaust and it will give you an idea of what it sounds like. i will get another clip on a service road at WOT in the near future...

eagle mach 7 exhaust movie link

size: 26mb
length: 48secs

you MUST have the latest version of quicktime or VLC player to view this movie. it is encoded with the h.264 codec.

Nice pipes. So far, those are the ONLY ones I've seen that I like. And so far, I've also been worried that they might be too loud, but yours sounds great. I realize that you didn't really get on it, but they don't seem to be obnoxiously loud.

The only thing that's keeping me from buying them now is... that ugly ass label on the side of the pipe. I notice that yours is label free. How'd you remove it? Was it easy? Did it leave any rivet-marks?

they peel right off. i used my fingers. ez as that.

the pipes are not obnoxiously loud until you get to around 7k rpm i'd say. if you are really gassing it, they are pretty f'n loud. but you aren't going to do that often so yeah, down low, they sound grrrrrrrrrreat.

Thanks, tekmoe. I know that you & I disagreed on the safety-merits of loud pipes. But at least we agree which pipes look best on the Speed Triples.

i hate to say this...but i still have to disagree with you on the looks!

lolol.

don't get me wrong, they do look nice, BUT, IMHO (again, my own humble measley stinking opinion) i really prefer the short stubby pipes. i went with these because of the dyno graph on the eagle website. it shows good power all the way thru from the bottom to the top. and they do feel good. i can't tell any power loss compared to the stock pipes. very smooth all the way thru the powerband. i have yet to redline the bike. i don't even think i've touched 8k rpm yet...***** thing is scary fast.

the pipes do have a unique look to them. i just wish they were shorter. in the future, i may sell them off if something comes along that i like. but as of now, it's either these or back to the stock pipes. and i'm definitely not going back to stock.

Hahahaha! I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, then. :-D

If you decide to sell them before I buy a set, I might be your first offer.

I am wondering these posted soundfiles. How can anyone really know what would any pipe sound in real life compared to some compressed file recorded with whatever cellphone and played from some crappy computer speakers?

This is just in general and not about this particular file.

It is just that authentic feeling which counts.. :-D
I think that these vids are meant to give an idea of the sound.. and more often reflects the owners happiness towards certain modification. I personally found that Tors and Stock cans comparison soundfile (both recorded on same method and with same recorder), very handy. Far from truth when hearing both exhaust live, but gave a good comparison.

Are you running these with the stock map or have you changed anything, Tek?
