The tool kit that resides under the seat apears to be designed for saving weight, but not much else. There are plenty of compact tool kits one can purchace for a bike, but I am not sure if Triumph needs metric or "standard". Where I live I cannot buy inch size tools, at least at a store. Thanx

Whats 'standard' ?

All modern Triumphs and Jap bikes are all metric - Which I think you'll find is standard across the whole world except America and India, who still use Imperial for some mad reason.

:???: :???: :???: :???:

[edit] You DO know England is metric (mostly) ? - apart from us using miles and driving on the correct side of the road [/edit]

I did not know that. I thought you guys use pounds, stones, miles, quarts, pints, gallons, feet etc. instead of metric measurements.

Live and learn.

Metric is standard and inches or feet or whatever are just plain weird.

Sorry, did not mean to cause an international incident! I meant SAE bolt sizes, which are in godforsaken 1/16" measurements. Well, I am glad the English are metric (or is it "Imperial Metric????) :-)

It really bugs me to have to buy two of almost every wrench and socket here in the US. Id say half of US manufacturing has switched over to metrics.

Any Whitworth fans in here? :-D

Everything I own is metric, but I have to work in English Standard at my job. Funny that. About 1/3 of what we make is for export.

Stupid Americans.

I can say that: I am one.

Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are too Although I can still buy pints of beer and milk, weigh myself in stones (which confuses everyone including the Yanks) and give my height in feet and inches. Can't buy a pound of apples any more though

I guess we just like to be different...no, awkward

OK, fair enough, there are loads of other things that we measure in imperial. But all our nuts and bolts are definatly metric.

Metric,

I usually carry both on my old Beemer to help other folks regardless of what brand they are riding.

Check out some cool tool kits
