What sold me was the relative simplicity. It has everything you need, and nothing you don't.

CB, I could have saved you 10k and told you to just pose! No need for a bike to harass people on a forum!

Hmmm... You could conceivably argue that you need a supercharger.
To further elaborate: There is nothing on the S3 that does not serve a practical function (well, okay, the mirrors serve no purpose whatsoever). I've used the analogy before - it's like a truck, a military vehicle, or even a race bike - every part on it has a purpose, and nothing is there just for show.
There's an almost (dare I say it) German minimalism to the thing. That doesn't mean it doesn't look good - good function does not prohibit good form.
But function is paramount. It has all the important stuff:
Powerful motor
Tricked out transmission
Powerful brakes
Fully-adjustable suspension hung on a strong frame with excellent handing geometry.
Perfect tire selection (not too big, not too small).

you know me Kuhlka, I'm just mess'n! :-D I was just wanting a major change from the same ol' jap sportbikes I've owned for years, and the looks of the 1050 triple got me hooked. But once I test rode the d*mn thing, it was all over! So for me, it was motor, motor, motor!!! I love my bike! :-D

i think i bought my s3 because of what it is. and that's just it. it is a superdelic freakiously awesome bike! it's got plenty of power, probably more than most people would ever need including myself. it stops on a dime. it handles like it's on rails. it looks fuggin badazz. it's very unique and not very many people have one. what more could you ask for from a bike? like everyone else says, it has it all. i love my s3. i've had it for almost 1 month and i have already put 1,000+ miles on it. it had 1 mile on it before i did the test ride. brand spankin new.
