Custom integrated LED tail light how-to

Hey all - This is my first post so "hi!".
I've been lurking for a while until I got things going on my bike.

I have an '04 S3 that I've been customizing and I built an integrated LED tail light for it recently (among other things).

Kuhlka, your pics with all your various undertail/light "experiments" helped a bunch in figuring out what I wanted to do for the rear end.

Next step: Windscreen off of a road king.
... and one headlight.

Excellent write-up! Looking forward to seeing your future projects. I'll have to get my butt in gear sometime this summer and do a similar website layout for all my images. Right now they're all just in folders and so disorganized...

Just did my own intergrated tail light last week. Bought the board and load equalizer from Custom Dynamics and got it 2 days later. The directions and installation were fairly easy but they weren't kidding about getting the tail light housing apart. Very tricky. Once the cover was off, it was smooth sailing. Looks so sweet. Then i took RevLMTRh8tR advice and bought a square of sheet metal from Home depot and made a plate holder for under my seat. The back of my bike looks bad ass.

Got mine from newspeed3.com. pain to get the lense off but worth it
