I keep hearing about these systems but no one has produced a sound file.
Surely some one got them

jimmydean,

I know how frustrating this subject is so i will do the best i can. I can only vouch for my specific situation and remember..."your results may vary".

Stock= 107.8 hp, sorry no torque figure done

Triumph Off Road (Tor) cans, stock map= 113.9 hp/ @71 ft/lbs torque

Tor's and Triumph performance map= 118 hp/ @ 73-74 ft/lbs torque

Trident 1/2 system- carbon fiber cans with larger inlets, and larger exhaust plumbing from the O2 sensor back= 117 hp/ 72.1 ft/lbs torque

* The "@" by the 2 torque figures is because i am trying to guesstimate them from my dyno graphs. Where as the dyno graph for the trident system specifically lists the max for hp and torque.

I lost one hp and probably 1 torque but I love the way my Trident system looks (minus some QC issues). I also feel the weight loss is significant. I am planning on getting a tuneboy and hope to make up the lost power. i would love to give you a sound clip but i do not know how.

The Tor's sound awesome and the Trident system has even a bit more of a bark. You will not go wrong with either. I personally do not care for some of the other systems as far as looks go but thank God for that because who wants to look like the other guy anyway.

If you are dying for a sound clip/ pics i can probably create one and email it to you directly. My email address is rbtwbbr3044@msn.com.

I hope this helps.

RbtWbbr3044 - add in the BMC filter and TOR tune and you'll see about another 4-5 bhp with the 1/2 system

Once again, not trying to get into a battle, but read closely, he already has the TOR tune loaded. Still, I'll give ya some credit, 10hp is a noticeable gain. I can't believe the TOR's made the difference they did!!! And I sold mine. Well, the Eagle feels like it may even be a little stronger, maybe I need to get mine dynoed! I just don't have stock #'s to compare to.

Oh well, so this is the 10hp improvement mentioned on the other thread... Nobody mentioned the Trident actually lost power compared to the Factory cans with stock link pipe.

RbtWbbr3044 - were these all done on the same dyno? It sounds like they were different dynos since you have 3 different data formats. You can not compare runs made on different dynos, they are not that consistent. It is tough to make comparisons between runs on the same dyno on different days. There are SAE correction factors for temperature, barometric pressure and humidity but they are rarely applied correctly.

I spent 4 years running dyno tests at Mack Trucks engine developement laboratory and we considered repeatability to be +/-1% at best on carefully calibrated equipment.

RbtWbbr-
Wow! the TORs ($500) did that well? Where would I get a chart of that? I would def like to hear a sound file; but which one are you ref to...Trident or TORs? I will email you as well.

Wolf- if I send you my email could I get a copy of the chart for thr Trident? I think, from what I've seen, the Trident looks great, but it's alot of money and no one seems to have a sound file to share. Hopefully some one comes up with a file. I've seen where you spoke of it before, but people want to hear what their shelling out the big bucks for before they buy.
That said I would be more then happy to recv a free demo of the system and would post lots of sound files and pics for you

Yes,

All of my dyno runs were on the same dyno. Unfortunatly I am not made of money or time so some of the runs were done on different days.

Stock run done on 10-31-05.

"Stock map with tors" and "performance map with tors" done same day 1-20-06.

Trident system and performance map done on 4-17-06.

I too know all about the fact that even the same dyno can give different results on any given day. I am not saying this is the end-all-do-all for any and every bike. I thought I was specific in saying this is my particular situation only for me. The runs might not have all been on the same day but it is better then no runs at all. I have yet to see even this much actual data, at any level on the forum so it is at least something for others to go on.

"This info is for entertainment purposes only and it should not be taken so seriously".

I just enjoy the data/ number crunching and the documentation. If I wanted the most hp/ torque I would have bought a 1000cc race replica.

But I do enjoy what I have and can't leave well enough alone. I enjoy tinkering with this bike even more then my harley and YSR. I like also seeing what others have to say and love seeing the spread of information on this site about all different kinds of subjects.

INFORMATION IS POWER, USE IT OR LOSE IT!

I will do my very best to get an electronic copy of these dyno runs as well as making a short video clip of the bike. I am only able to make a video with the Trident system as I have sold my TOR pipes.

Okay rbtwbbr- I would really like to hear that sound file when you can. I think alot of people would love to hear it! How well do you think your Trident sounds? I'm looking for a fairly large deep growl.

Wolf- I tried to PM you but because I'm new the system wants me to make at least 10 new topics before it allows that feature for me; I've only done 2 so far. If I email the wolfracing would you get it that way?
