Hey all,

This is my first post! I'm VERY interested in getting a 2006 S3. I live in Northern California and have contacted a dealer in the Sacramento area. The deal they are offering me is $11,500 Out The Door. This includes the 7 1/2% sales tax, DMV fees and all the dealer fees. Wondering if this is a good deal or just average? What have some of you other California S3 buyers paid if you are willing to share.

Seems like a great site and I'm hoping to learn a lot from you guys! I currently ride a 2005 Suzuki SV1000 and a 2002 Honda 919. Love em both, but the S3 looks AWESOME!

You can save yourself a significant amount of money in SoCal.

I paid right about $11,600.00 out the door but that was in June of '05 when I got one of the first black ones in my area. That seems high considering the bike model is about a year old now. I heard as low as mid 8's I think somewhere out in the southeast US but cannot confirm.

Try looking at old posts I believe this was covered several months back.

Good luck.

These guys are a long way from you but they are selling 06 S3s $8883 out the door (OK, there is $26.65 in local taxes). They stock the 49 state version but I'll bet they would get a CA model for you. You would have to fly out and ride it back or trailer it but for the difference in price it might be worth it. It was worth the day off and $150 in gas and truck rental for me to buy from them, that's for sure.

I paid $11,200 OTD in SoCal, in December, I felt I was ripped off a bit but had no choice. Seeing as they were the only ones with a black in stock, and I need to get the bike insured before the accident from my first bike went on the record (insurance would have doubled)!

Well I just paid 11.6 otd. Hard to get them to drop on these things. The production is so small you are lucky to find one in some areas. Remember this is the hottest time of the year to buy a bike. Dealers aren't going to go too low this early in the year. I managed to get a whopping $100 off of my setup fee and I am a return customer! Mine is so high because our taxes are over 8%.
Get the bike and enjoy it!

cyclerider, doesn't sound terribly bad, considering the high sales tax you guys have to pay. The Doc is correct, Southernpowersports is the best buy in the country, I would think. But, you would still have to pay your 7-1/2% sales tax once you got it back to Cali and registered it there. So I would say by that time, depending on how you got the bike back there, you would have atleast close to $10,500, worth it for a grand??? :???:

check around, you might could find somewhere semi-local to ya for $11k or a little under.

I bought mine in Northern California in January 2006. After harassing all the Bay Area dealers, ended up paying $11,089 OTD.
