Smoke

I've got a 2004 Triple which has just turned 9000 miles. It was last serviced at 4500 so it's booked in for the next one. I've just come back from a 2500 mile holiday but had to put a litre of oil in during the trip. It had a remap for a race can before leaving. When accelerating hard I get a puff of white smoke (not blue) but no smoke on a constant throttle. Performance is the same and temp is normal.

I'm pretty concerned - should I be??

Sure more than you'd like. I don't know about the Triumph but the stated acceptable oil consumption on my K1200GT is 1 liter/1000 miles. You could do a compression check. Is the vent pipe from the air cleaner box to the crank case really oily? If it is it may indicate a lot of blow by.
