all the same ways i'm already doing so far and then some.....

done:
rizoma fluid res
rizoma mirrors (currently i have the reverse retros)
seat cowl, wind screen, and belly pan
carbon fiber front fender
custom grey paint (in process)
dual wolf cans
fender eliminated
integrated tail light/turn signals
xenon head lamps

needs to happen:
pazzo levers
sargent seat

maybe one day:
probably trade in the current seat cowl, wind screen, and belly pan for all custom fiber
carbon fiber sprocket cover
custom carbon fiber clutch cover and oil engine casing
carbon fiber hugger
custom carbon fiber wheels
probably look into trading in the dual wolf cans for a custom underseat and full system exhaust
carbon fiber heel guards
carbon fiber chain guard
carbon fiber rad cowls
custom carbon fiber side fairing
some custom, partial carbon radiator guards
steering dampner, not sure which
some new adjustable rear sets, again not sure which
heated grips
power commander
new shocks, would have to do homework to figure out what

ok, that's a start. and that's not being creative. some more mechanical people will probably come with a lot more than this to totally rip it apart and do crazy things, especially to boost performance. all the things above are actually just more within real reach at some point or another, though i personally will never probably get to all of this or even half of it. maybe i'll at least spark some interest in the thread with these "average" thoughts.

i'd probably go steal some ideas from the recent "S3 1050 LSL special" post and then talk to somebody who actually knew what they were talking about regarding numerous other ideas.

Okay, money is no object.

Take the head to the flow bench and do some creative porting on the intake. I hear there are a few ponies able to be liberated here. Perhaps 10. Also a little work could be done on the exhaust ports, but I think there's less to be gained here. Then add a full titanium exhaust to my personal specs: 3 into 2 just because it looks better, but also because it's been known to add midrange at the expense of top end.

Then lighten, balance, and blueprint the crank. The cranks on these are mondo-heavy and I'm sure there's a lot of top end to be found if the things would just rev quicker! Also, some other places that could lose some rotating mass: Cams, Clutch basket, balance shaft, and any gear you can find. Every part that flings oil gets polished.

Let's not forget titanium valves and H-section nut-less rods (stronger and saves reciprocating weight.) Nickel-carbide plated cylinder liners of course, and hard-chromed total seal rings. Oh, and low friction coated pistons.

Stock cams are retained (SURPRISE!) but once the engine is back together it goes on the dyno to have the cams degreed and the engine management made perfect via tuneboy. Throttle bodies are synced perfectly, and thought is given to a dual injector system like some other top end sportbikes. Airbox harmonics may be adjusted, but probably not much. Air horns on the airbox are routed to gather cooler air, with possible ram induction.

I expect if everything is done correctly that there's 140 rear wheel HP lurking in the 1050 (naturally aspirated) without increasing the compression or boring or stroking.

Then the other bits.

Carbon Fiber wheels, both front and rear. Kevlar and carbon fiber tank and bodywork. Electronics and wiring cleaned up considerably. Custom aluminum radiator, with integral oil cooler.

Higher quality front and rear suspension (brand to be determined) and Brembo brakes all around.

Adjustable lower link for the swing arm, allowing height adjustment.

Mirrors replaced with bar-end micro cameras and twin color LCD displays, and a custom instrument cluster with NO DIGITAL READOUTS. I hate digital speedometers. I like analog gauges.

Wouldn't that be something?

I'm with vancity :hammer: I'm happy with mine as it is now, really happy with the paintwork. Don't think I need any more ponies, plenty quick enough for the street. If money was no object I'd get to ride it more, no work!! I fancy the carbon wheels though, but think I'd be scared of them breaking (especially the front on landing).

I second that, I like the bike with my current 'poor man' mods.
Clip-ons, belly pan, fork, swingarm and frame sliders, upgraded horn, bar end mirrors, hugger.

Maybe some fancy wheels and a modestly stretched swingarm just for bling factor..oh and a "fixed" seat that doesnt squash yer nads and "fixed" mushy front brakes (Brembo's perhaps).

"Mirrors replaced with bar-end micro cameras and twin color LCD displays"

nice!!!!!!!!!

oh, oh, don't forget a retracting license plate!

and to VancityS3's point, i was gonna say a hooker on the back originally. maybe not a real, pay directly and straight up for s3x hooker. but one of those girls that you basically have to pay for a bunch of sh!t for cuz they are money hungry and s3x becomes part of it, naturally (many fit into this category...hookers). a super b!tch. this way, i can stop at a light one day and give her the boot to pick up the new hottie walking by. "walk your @ss home in thoe manolo blahnik's. this other girls coming with..."

woah, is that wrong?
