Riding my new S3 back from Los Angeles I found my posterior getting a bit heated. Didn't know if this was a flaw or that I unknowingly purchased an optional seat warmer.Happened again on another ride.

Any comments or solutions?

Thats strange, although I dont live in Cali I've found my S3 to be the coolest bike I've had in ages, because of the naked-ness of course. I never feel the heat either from the engine or the exhaust, I can ride all day in the fast and slow stuff and have no issues, now my faired bike in the slow stuff cooks my right inner thigh and seat/subframe area pretty darn good when it's subjected to too much stop and go.

I spotted my first 675 at a gas station the other day and spoke to the guy. He said the same thing. The underseat exhaust gets it hot. He was considering a gel seat, but I warned him that I had heard that those thigs don't release heat very well after sitting in the sun, so he might be in for double the bake if he goes that route.

I think my S3 is a lot cooler than (previous) the VFR , the RF900, or the Daytona 955. If I was twenty years younger and dumber, this would be a shorts-wearin' bike. No cooked thighs on this one.

I'll get it to the dealer and let him check it out. Glad I did not get the gel seat. It would have been boiling!
