...955i :???: :hammer:

Not a dumb question at all...although I believe that even on your SE it says 955i on the instrument cluster...I know it does on mine.

Speed Triples;
98/99 = T509 (carbs)
2000/01 = T955/955i (fuel injected)
02-04=955i
05+ = 1050

pretty sure thats how it goes.

The T595 is the Daytona, but essentially the same parts as the T509/T955, with the motor as exception. Different cams and other cast bits. Otherwise, the bikes are nearly identical. Some structural changes with regard to the fuel tank and a few other bits for 02-06, but most parts are interchangeable. I think we did a post on this a while back.

I know the T509 was also available in '97. I thought it got the 955 engine in '99.

Were the T509s really carburated?! I had a '97 T595 Daytona and it had Sagem fuel injection. Since the T509 was just a smaller version of that motor, I presumed it had fuel injection, too. No?

94-96 speed triples have carbs. In 97 they changed over to the oval frame and EFI

The T509 I believe were also 885 displacement and I know for a fact that they were fuel injected

I wasn't ignoring the oldies, just couldn't remember the call numbers.

So it goes?

94-96 = T300 (carb'd original S3)
97-99 = T509 (885cc switch to EFI and current frame)
2000/01 = T955/955i
02-04=955i
05+ = 1050
