some nice bikes there, I've just borrowed this for the day while my S3 is having a new chain set fitted (aint got time to do it meself), and its awesome, I've had this as a loaner before, and I very nearly left the S3 in the dealers and kept the Vraptor.

scouselee, I've just come from a VRaptor to a S3. They are a nice bike. Its the engine that makes it IMO - that TL1000 (best sports Vtwin). The bike does have a few quality control issues though. I had carbon exhausts cans and a power commander. It had torque from the get go. The thing i miss the most though is the sound. It is by far the loudest bike I've ever owned.

After saying all that i can with out a doubt say I'm in a much happier place with my 05 S3.

I consider this sorta an "If I won the lottery" question.

And oddly enough, I probably wouldn't go for the crazy high-dollar exotica. My needs are simple:

1: BMW K1200R (with panniers)
2: 1975 BMW R90S. The original sport tourer
3: HD Electra Glide Ultra Classic - for those trips to Canada during the summer
4: Ducati 1000S in that lovely mustard yellow (utterly impractical, but utterly cool).
5: Sprint ST (for when I want to get to Canada faster)

I'd blow the rest of the lottery money on some acreage for a log cabin in the woods and build a big ol' barn/garage/workshop to build bikes and of course the 427 AC Cobra replica car I'd want to put together.

Hey Captain, you are from near my old stomping ground! I grew up around Wargrave, Twyford & Sonning. There are some great back roads around there. I used to like going the long way to Windsor.

I think I also share the logic of the frugal crowd. Cheaper bikes and a killer garage to house them in.

1. 1997 CBR 900 in all red, because I used to have a red 600 and always wanted the bigger bike).

2. That being said, I want my 1997 CBR 600 back, just so I can relive the days when I was single, too stupid to know better, good looking, and the women flocked to this bike. Since this is in the past, I can lie a little.

3. Yamaha Warrior, V-Twins are just bad arse, and these can be really fast in a straight line. Sometimes it's just about the display of power.

4. A fully loaded Goldwing. I'm not that old, but I like gadgets and comfort.

5. A Triumph Scrambler. Sure I know it's not fast, but I bet it feels like you are going fast, even when you aren't.

Of course this is all subject to change in ten minutes after I pick up a different motorcycle magazine.
