The balance point on a GSXR is a LOT lower than the Triples. I can wheelie my gsxr for 2.5 to 3 miles at a time where as the Triple takes a little more finesse, and as of right now I am just shy of a mile (a mile on one wheel is longer than you think).

I can power sit downs 1st through 3rd on a flat road, and with the smallest of hills I can get 4th and 5th. 6th gear is so fast that I have only done it a couple of times and it take a lot of pull. Stand ups there again are 1st to 3rd with a bounce and a twist of the wrist. 4th gear stand ups I bounce and slip the clutch. 4th gears took a while to learn. Bouncing and slipping the clutch and the the right timing is harder than it looks.

Hey man, the S3 will come up at a much higher speed than 40. I've clutched mine up many times at 60-65 mph in 2nd. I prefer doing it at a lower speed, but it can be done. I'll bet ya Corners or Tonup can pick it up at 100mph, but they are good at standups, I am not. Most people that are good at standups, can bounce the bike up without even using the clutch. I'm sure the S3 could be persuaded to lift the front wheel at 100mph, it just may take a bit more persuasion than your Gixxer1000 did. I know my 02 R1 would also clutch up at a higher speed than my S3 does. But I do have to admit, the S3 feels more stable on one wheel than my R1 did!!! If I can just hold that freak'n balance point!!!
:-D
Yes it will come up with clutch till 55mph roughly.. , but it does require way more effort than my gixxer needed on those speeds. But if I want to sit with 2nd I prefer to take it up on around low 40s. And hey man.. my bike is still on Break-in period, so I cant ride it so hard.. (yeah, right).. :-D

problems with balance point?? this bike has sooo wide balance point that I cant even say that any other bike could be so easy to hold the front wheel on the air..

Just pick it up.. take higher and higher and when you flipped it, just back up by a fraction...

GSXR balance point lower..?? I think that it was higher, at least it did felt that way... maybe its the more upfront driving position with wide bars on S3.. I have done stand ups on 3rd with gixxer, good couple miles at least so.. If you can go a mile you can also go 2 or 3.. it is not a rocket science.
What I meant that S3 is very easy to lift up to balance point and keep it up there, even with less power than like 1000cc jap streetbike.. however with more power on hand with streetbikes, it is so mucbn easier to pull them up on higher speed, such as 100mph..
I need to ask someone take a pic when pulling a wheelie with S3, so I can see how high it actually is.. doesnt feel that high though.. anyway, will get couple pics, so you guys do not think that I am just full of Sh*t..

get some pics, we need to start a wheelie pic thread! :-D I can bring it up to the balance point, but I either screw up, or get scared and drop the front a little and start pick'n speed back up. Plus I need to learn a little more how to correct right or left drifts. Here's a old school pic of me riding one on my S3. Sorry Corners, haven't got a new one yet!!! Corners has some good pics too!

Both of these pictures were taken on the same day. I had lent my gsxr to my friend to ride. Note the wheelie height differance. The gsxr feels higher only becase of the clip ons.

sorry CB haven't got any new ones either

this is also a nac nac shot and you have to balance to do a good one

I just got back from a ride on both, and to me my gsxr balances lower than the triple

Nice shots.. and picture can't lie, I will take your word for it. maybe its the clip on's which make the feeling that it is higher than it actually is..
Anyway will post some pics tomorrow nite.

Yeah, definitely a difference between where Corners and CB are doing wheelies then squids doing it in traffic trying to look cool. Here in NorCal, the squids are in force. Ran into a couple in heavy freeway traffic moving along at 60+, riding stand up wheelies through traffic, the kicker? their f-ing SUV chase vehicle driving past people on the shoulder kicking up all sorts of *****. Anyway, there's a time and a place for it, but for sure don't let them coax you into doing something stupid.
