i was at a stoplight an hour ago(1 mile from my house) and the light turned green the car in front started to go and then slammed on his brakes. well i was probably a little to close, but i slammed on mine (did my first stoppie) and just kind of fell over. scratched my case, broke my crg mirror, bent my lever, and broke my toe piece off the brake lever. thank god for frame slides. well, no for the stupid part, i picked it up and tipped it right over onto the left side... just scratched that side and broke my other crg mirror.

now for what i need. i need mirrors, levers and a bunch of my pride back!!!! any suggestions? i think i can fix my toe piece for my rizoma rear sets.

i feel like sh*t!!!

Aside from suggesting you try bending back your levers before buying new ones, I have no suggestions regarding bike repairs; the damage all sounds minor.

Mainly, though, there's no reason to feel bad. Drops happen!

it could be worse. let me remind you. it is entirely possible that you could have done something even more stupid such as:

1) got drunk
2) let your friend drive home because of it
3) then when you get home say "you better let me park so you don't hit my bike"
4) back in instead of pulling in forward
5) knock your most prized possession over

who would do something this stupid? i dunno. then again, at least "that guy" above can blame alcohol. unfortunately the bike next to the triple dinged the tank and rear seat cowl. doah!

the idiot above has some of that pj1 case paint coming tomorrow. he intends to sand down said case to remove minor scratches and paint. this should fix this problem. idiot will post pics so you can probably do the same.

those casing on either side are couple hundred a piece otherwise.

WELCOME TO THE PROGRAM!!!

CRG makes replacement mirrors $10 ea. ( don't ask me how I know )

You can also sand the cases smooth, Tape off, And paint with a good Satin black.
If the rear brake pedal is bent and not broken, Wrap the pedal with a thick cloth to protect the finish and bend back using large vise grip.

I know that Cycle gear has bar end mirrors that are almost identical to CRG at a fraction of the cost :brk:
If I had seen these before I purchased CRG at $80 ea.
I would have them instead, and used the extra cash for new Streetfighter bars.

what hairball said for the rear brake might work. i "know"somebody who did it last week. brake lever is otherwise about $100 to buy new.

PJ1 Case Paint

dang Aaron, sorry to hear man. As much as I hate to admit it, I dropped my 02 R1 after having it only a couple of weeks. It did suck, but luckily only minor damage. Get that little nit nack stuff fixed, and that will help your pride. Hey, like you said, just gives you an excuse to buy some pazzo levers! :-D

These pictures might make you feel better about your first drop on your S3. I "dropped" my 1999 BMW R1100GS for the first time about four years and 50,000 miles after I got it. Here are some pictures:

Glad you are ok!

The bike can always be fixed! Remember at least 2 seconds minimum follwing distance.
