I see guys with little bells on their Harleys all the time... What are they for?

They're usually hanging off the rear fender or in front of the engine from the oil cooler...

Are they a good luck charm or some other thing for the RUBs to let everyone know that they're 1%ers?

I vaguely remember somebody telling me that the bells on Harleys ward off gremlins... if that's the case, then they'll need much bigger bells! :-D

They are to ward off the road gremlins that cause mysterious mechanical problems. Don't see them very often on other bikes..... I guess gremlins can't hang on at ton+ speeds :-D

They are called ride bells.

It's a good luck charm basically.

Or you could say it's another pointless thing for sportbikers to make fun of. Which is silly, cause most sportbikers are just as bad as the cruiser guys about pointless***** on there bikes. <3

It is, in fact, a bell to ward off mechanical gremlins.

Oh, bells! Thought you were talking about bikerballz (google it if you don't know what I'm talking about but it's not work safe).

Bells I don't understand but the other really confuses me. What message do people think they're sending when they have a Pair hanging from their bike? or their truck? (I've seen both in traffic in Houston several times).

???

They are called gremlin bells. I actually have one. A very good friend of mine gave it to me... It is about 3/8" in diameter, and about the same height.

I look at it from the JUJU perspective. If it adds a bit of "luck" then why not... It's not big enough to be obtrusive... And aren't we all brothers to some degree? Kinda like Roadies VS mountain bike guys... :hammer:
