I hear the Avon ST is a good tire. Good grip, wear and handling.

I read some bad reviews on Avons on another site, but I wasn't sure if the jokers new what they were talking about. They seemed to be judging tyres only by their mileage and lifespan, not by their stick or warm-up time.

My vintage bikes always had either some form of Avon Venoms or Dunlop K591s. Both were amazing tyres, great compounds that I would love to have again.

I use 020`s,harder wearing with a dual compound outer edge.Iv`e tried loadsa tyres in the 8yrs I`ve owned my bike and I think they are good.57`s were the forerunner and they were good too.56`s and 010`s won`t last 5 mins with our motors.Iv`e even tried a Koncord remould, great on smooth dry tarmac, bloody lethal everywhere else....don`t touch em.

If your not a racer or dont track days, You might want to give the Continental Conti-Force's a try, at least once. I've used them twice, averaged about two rears to a front, or 4500 miles per rear. These are excellent all-around tires for these moderate powered, heavier bikes. Have pushed them hard on the twisties with never a hint of slip. Very stable, quick, light steering. I also tried theConti-Force Max, a much softer super-sport tire, and my 95 felt like it was on a rail at all lean angles, steering seemed a tad slower, or heavier, but well planted regardless. Only got 2900 out of the rear, and the front was getting close. Both of these are the least exspensive tires out there, but the regular Conti-Forces are an excellent value, the Max's maybe not.
Now using the Pirelli Diablo (free front deal) and am very happy with them. Rail like, stable, quick steering and planted at any angle...........an absolute stuck to the road feeling....I think all the tires on the market are excellent tires, as long as they're used for their intended purposes. Tires that get a bad rap typically are being used on the wrong type bike, or riding conditions. :-D

Hi
My 02 has Bridgestone 010's fitted as standard and they are very good, I've used Bridgestone on many different bikes and always found them excellent. The 010's are dual compound and the rear lasted 4500 miles, I have heard that having a front 010 and a rear 020 maximises the mileage while still gripping well. I used to have a bike with Conti's on it, they are an older design but did very well in the tests at the time, I had no problems with them that I can remember and I think they lasted quite well too. When I had my Trophy's I used Michelin Macadam's and found they were alright, but didn't really push them, but they did suit the bike.
Hope that helps. :-D

You know, this s3 has the worst tire life of every bike i have had.

2-3k miles per rear tire. I used to get way more on my other bikes, and they had more power. Cbr1100xx, r1, 929rr.

I bought the bike from a guy who had avon distanzias on the rear, they lasted 7k miles.

I just installed continental force tires today, cant wait to see how much they last.
