When I bought the S3 5 weeks ago the dealer said I'd be getting a survey from the factory. I haven't got it yet and was wondering how long it usually takes. I'll get a $50 spiff from the dealer when I take it back. My seat cover and service manual are on the shelf.

The dealer won't like a few comments the way they dicked around on the deal, but oh well. They won't see the bike again unless I have a FI or warrenty issue. They also charged me a $10 non-existant lein fee. Did they think I wouldn't read the fine print? Asshats!

Unfortunatly the bike gets a few knocks in the finish dept. Something wrong about dropping this much $ for corroded valve cover bolts and a few rust spots on the frame. Do they ship these over strapped to the deck of a tramp steamer? :hammer: I know it's not a Honda, but come on. The cosmoline sprayer must need a raise.

I've got 1000 miles on it, and short of the finish nitpicks, the bike rocks! Time to start fiddling with suspension settings. I weigh 12 stone in full gear. Although I like bikes set up on the stiff side I think it could use a little less comp. dampening.
I haven't experienced any front brake softness some of you have. The PR tires stick like glue but the rear is already squared off. Looks like if it goes 4K I'll be lucky. I don't drag pegs and will look for a little more mileage. I have to go 50 miles to find roads with curves.

If you have a copy of the survey send it my way. I want my seat cowl!

Sounds like bovine excrement to me.

The only survey I got on my last 3 bikes was from J.D. Powers and Associates, and it absolutely doesn't go back to the dealer. I got one from the last car I bought too.

It came about 3 or 4 months after I got the bike, and it gets sent directly back to J.D. Powers and Associates.

You didn't inspect the bike or the contract before you bought it? Kind of what it sounds like you're saying. If so, perhaps the dealer figures he can make you believe anthing.

Like Crash, I've never heard of a survey quite like that either. Triumph have been known to contract with a firm from England for customer feedback surveys, and lately they've also been using J. D. Powers. The former survey went back to England and entered you in the annual drawing for a new Triumph. The latter is usually accompanied by a dollar, and goes straight back to J. D. Powers. These may not go out to everyone now, but might be sent at random. As Crash says, it usually takes a few months to show up.

My dealer also said I would be receiving a survey from Triumph. I've only had mine 3 weeks. It is pretty common practice for manufactures to survey their customers, I don't know why Triumph wouldn't do it. If the dealer is giving you $50 for it I think they want it blank so they can fill it out themselves. I believe the responses affect the hold back $$$ they get at the end of the year.

I had bought my S3 right around the new year, received a survey from Triumph (UK) about 3 months later; hang in there, I'm sure it will arrive. And then you get a chance to tell Triumph about their shortcomings... :hammer:
But don't forget to tell them it's a great bike...

I bought an 03 Speedmaster in March of 2005 and just recently recieved the Triumph survey for that! Since I got my S3 in October 2005 I do not expect to see the survey for that one any time soon!!! Guess its hard to keep up with a factory so ***** small.

I too got a survey from Triumph a couple months after I purchased the bike but I don't think I got any kind of rebate for filling it out. Hopefully that wasn't your dealer giving you a line of manure. I know that the one I filled out had many questions about the experience I had with the dealership so if and when you get it, you can let them know about the problems.........

My survey showed up yesterday. Took 2 months like
RN-Rat said. The $50 spiff is from my stealer, not Triumph.
I'm off to get my bling.

Interesting that this thread should show up now. I just filled out the Triumph survey tonight. No biggie. Mostly good things to say.

Now, I gotta figure out what I'd take if I won the free bike.

I'm thinkin' Rocket III.
