I completely endorse Crash's assessment. The Scrambler is charming and nostalgic, whereas the Tiger is practical, comfortable, and amply powered. Depending on your own personality, either would be a fine choice; only you will be able to decide which fits your needs better.

So far as waiting for the alleged new Tiger, well, I'd have to ask "why?" It doesn't seem to have most of the qualities you've said you're looking for. If MCN turns out to be correct and the Multistrada-looking test mule in the spy shots really is the next incarnation of the Tiger, then it's going to be a substantially different bike altogether. I'm sure it will be great in its own way, but it won't possess a lot of the practicality (nor from the looks of it, the comfort) that Tiger owners love about their machines.

And if you ever find such a thing as an "unbiased opinion" anywhere, please let us know. The two words are mutually exclusive. :-)
