Yes, yes. I know the black ones came with a Flux Capacitor.
However, the Blue ones come with an Oscillation Overthruster, which of course makes them much faster than the black ones.
I have to agree that it's unlikely there will be a major update to the 1050 Speed Triple for next year. I suppose they could be testing a new transmission or clutch, but since everybody and their uncle raves about the engine it's doubtful that they are going to change anything.
The obvious exception to this would be the possibility of building a sub-100 HP model for certain markets or trying to iron out some of the fuel consumption issues.
It could also be that they are mocking up a few 955i Speed Triples to use up the last of the Daytona engines in some kind of "Special Edition Speed Triple". They've been known to pull this stunt before (remember the 750 Speed Triple?)
Finally, they could be testing the new Daytona engine in a Speed Triple chassis. I know this isn't even rumored, but I can't believe that Triumph won't continue to build a liter class triple sportbike. With the 955i dead and gone and even the Tiger rumored to be moving to the 1050 I bet there's something new on the drawing boards.
A Daytona 1450i ZX14R killer anyone?
