don't know desmo? :???: Looks the same, but the small write up says only engine and exhaust changes. Man, it's hard to make the motor any better than it is. Can't wait to hear what they're doing with it! Maybe they can squeeze some more hp and torque out of it!?! :-D

Dunno, wonder what they are thinking about changing..Hopefully they are working on fixing the small things that plague the bike..like the front brakes...other than that it don't need much.

I'd like to see a triple organ pipe exhaust a la MV Agusta F4...........LEAVE THE REST OF THE BIKE ALONE..........ok maybe a few more stainless fasteners, and PLEASE PLEASE change that fugly rad cap. I'm having sleepless nights over it.

Des, fortunately I think the 'updated' 2007 S3will be the same as 05/06 but will have minor engine mods to meet new stricter emissions regs. So basically Hinckley are probably trying to maintain power and performance while meeting ever more stringent emissions regs.
If you think about it the 05/ 06 triple is only 2 years old and unlikely to receive a major update for another year or so. Where other manufacturers change/update their models on an almost annual basis. I like this as when you have a good thing 'if it ain't broke etc'.
But I was looking at my 06S3 and comparing it to a late 05s3 and there are a number of minor differences for example on my o6 s3 the oil cooler is half the size of the one fitted to the 05 model. Whether this is an improvement or update I don't know but I'm sure that as time goes by Hinckley iron out niggles. Maybe they will get round to to the rad cap, but if thats all thats wrong with the bike thats ney bad in my opinion.
Basically there is no bike that comes close to the s3 for any $$$.

I want one with a flux capacitor.

Dude... You didn't get a flux capacitor? Only black ones have it factory... or, do you have a Euro/Cali model? :-D

Yes, yes. I know the black ones came with a Flux Capacitor.

However, the Blue ones come with an Oscillation Overthruster, which of course makes them much faster than the black ones.

I have to agree that it's unlikely there will be a major update to the 1050 Speed Triple for next year. I suppose they could be testing a new transmission or clutch, but since everybody and their uncle raves about the engine it's doubtful that they are going to change anything.

The obvious exception to this would be the possibility of building a sub-100 HP model for certain markets or trying to iron out some of the fuel consumption issues.

It could also be that they are mocking up a few 955i Speed Triples to use up the last of the Daytona engines in some kind of "Special Edition Speed Triple". They've been known to pull this stunt before (remember the 750 Speed Triple?)

Finally, they could be testing the new Daytona engine in a Speed Triple chassis. I know this isn't even rumored, but I can't believe that Triumph won't continue to build a liter class triple sportbike. With the 955i dead and gone and even the Tiger rumored to be moving to the 1050 I bet there's something new on the drawing boards.

A Daytona 1450i ZX14R killer anyone?

I heard that Triumph was having an issue with the Oscillation Overthruster. Seems all Blue ones are soon to be permanantly recalled due to mushiness of the feel. Thus creating a serious problem with bringing the bike up to any REAL speed...

The black ones however, have a flux capacitor upgrade coming out that will launch them into legend status...

BTW: Triumph ain't changin' much on the "07" except the mirrors. Why cut off your nose to spite your face? I would argue, based on production number percentages of Triumph VS others, the new S3 is one of the best selling bikes in recent times.

Have you guys seen the photos of the new Roulette Green 06/07 S3s? There was a guy on T595.net who took a tour of the factory and they've got a pile of mean greenies building up to hit dealerships.
