Please, if you have no experience with bike coms, don't hijack this thread with inane chatter. I'm looking at various systems to possibly buy this summer for LONG road trips and need some genuine first-hand feedback from people. Don't want to spend a shload of money on a POS that doesn't work.

I want something that works at any speed for full face helmets and is hardwired into the bike for power. Not interested in battery power units that might go dead halfway down the road.

Anyone have any suggestions or articles/reviews they can link to check out?

AUTOCOM

I can highly recommend the autocom... use it with the missus all the time.. took me about an hour to properly mount the headphone and speakers into the helmets but works a treat... sounds quality is excellent even at high speed! The only one I have really tried but I am really happy with it.

I love my StarCom1 that I installed on my '01. My brother purchased and installed one on his Thuderbird Sport and one on his girlfriend's Thuderbird. Two other RAT Pack members have also installed them... One on a Daytona Super III and one on a Tiger. All of us love them. I've posted an installation summary that is also coupled with riding impressions. Search the S3 and modifications and Workshop Talk forums for StarCom1...

I have a chatterbox FRSX2 and it is JUNK. It is fine around town, but if you get much above 60mph it doesn't work at all. You can hear the other riders, but you can't understand them. The problem I find it that the wind noise is a major factor. I have it on one of my Arai helmets, and I have had it on on my Shoei and no differance.

I only use it any more so I can plug my ipod into it and jam while I am riding
