I just replaced my oil and I noticed a small drip. It looks like it's originating from the oil filter. I tightened it as tight as I can by hand and it's still dripping.

I've used the FRAM Tough Guard TG7317 which is supposed to be a comparable replacement.

Do you use a tool to tighten the oil filter? I never had to on any of my other bikes or cars.

Well, you've got a problem bigger than your oil leak... You used a FRAM! Those things are evil and rated the lowest by reviews I've read. I'd post them, but I'm sick of oil posts.

Did you use a new crush washer on your drain plug? I got a slow leak when I didn't replace the washer.

Take the fram off and throw it away. replace with a different brand and make sure the gasket area is free of gasket material.

I guess I better use the Purolator PL14610.
Have you guys heard of this filter?

Advance Auto TotalGrip. It's at the bottom and they compare it with the Purolator and a lot cheaper. I think I'll give that a shot.

Is it worth saving $3 to use a filter that you don't know much about. How often do you change your oil - two, three times a year? The purolator is well recommended by many members of this forum......thats what I would use.
