Road and Track mgazine , June 2006 and Motorcycle Classics, May/June mag both have nice articles on Highway 129-"The Tail of the Dragon". Now the place will be overun and ruined for sure by too many people! Well, it was fun once. My first trip there was 14 years ago and it seemed like there were more cars and campers than bikes. My latest visit was a week ago and it was almost all bikes!!

yeah, Hivel. I've noticed it's been getting more crowded every year seems like! It's cool to see all of the bikes there, but makes the riding no fun, too much traffic! I still love it up there, and will probably keep going until they run us all off, but we ride many of the roads around the Dragon too. I think we ought to have a huge S3 get together up there!!! :-D

It sounds like it's already kind of over run. The last time I was there was in '99, in mid-week and we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
Up here in Vermont there's a few roads that are streaming with bikes all Summer long. One of them already has heavy radar patrol and the other is on its way i suspect.

As much as I love to see the sport grow, sometimes I miss having the road to myself.

Was there last weekend as well. Between the Rat Raid, Busa Bash, VFR rally and a couple of car rallys it was crowded. An interesting place that's for sure.

CB is correct, the roads and scenery in the area are awesome!

The best way to enjoy your favorite bike road is to make time to get there during the week. Weekends are becoming impossible with all the tourists and cops thick on the ground.
